NVH issues much more complex to integrate in a development cycle and in a reduced time. Taking into account the higher excited frequency range and the multiplicity of the sources, the NVH testing of the powertrain becomes a difficult task. Simplifying the system, powertrain could be considered as a simple acoustic source we would have to characterize following the established norms, however, our R&D test devices have multiple other functions (efficiency or reliability) and we must adapt our need to a shared equipment which presents difficult environmental conditions. An estimation of the acoustic power (ERP) seems the best way to support the project keeping flexibility of our test devices and it is supported by hypothesis already validated in simulation using the normal housing vibratory velocity and a good assumption of the radiation coefficient.
