E-Axle NVH behavior is determined by the interaction between main excitation mechanisms and the structural dynamic response. To minimize the risk of NVH issues in the final product in the face of this complexity, simulation has to be employed strategically throughout the development process. In this contribution, the main simulation domains that need to be considered and combined in order to evaluate E-Axle NVH behavior are outlined. In particular, it is shown how the simulation approach evolves during the design process. In the initial stages, the emphasis is on pre-sizing and structural optimization in order to provide conceptual input to the design. As the design progresses, more detailed analysis steps follow which focus on the pre-validation of NVH requirements and the evaluation of smaller-scale design decisions. Subsequently, model validation is performed to increase the confidence level for the following design phases and projects.
