As electric vehicles advance, the demands for higher performance, efficiency, and reliability keep growing. Modern drivetrains must become not only more powerful, but also smarter, self-monitoring, and robust against aging. This talk shows how semiconductor health, motor technology, and inverter architecture interact on a system level. We discuss real-time condition monitoring of power semiconductors (Si, SiC, GaN) and their aging, review current motor types and control strategies, and explain how inverter topologies affect efficiency, EMI, and battery integration. The goal is to give a comprehensive overview of the next generation of intelligent, self-monitoring electric vehicle platforms.
